Maximizing Efficiency
on a Small Site
Location: Vancouver
Client: Private residence
Completed: September 2013
Architect: David Wong
Area: 2,350 sq ft

A small irregular shaped corner lot helped shape this home. Owners desired materials and a design that recalled the forests, openness, and precipitous land forms of their native Finland.

The home's Great room with its vaulted ceilings and full height windows define a gathering place– connecting views, spatial relations, and hierarchies of rooms so all spaces may enjoy the natural light that washes the feature room.

Skylights daylight the bedroom closet spaces and when opened, help with the circulation of air and displacement ventilation.
