An owner-artist desired a home that was painted with aboundant natural daylight. A small footprint living room was enhanced by the creation of a double volume space that visually connected to the family room. Desired views of the home's natural surrounds were framed by the placement of windows positioned at eyelevel at both the standing and seated positions. Slot windows were placed on the home's long sides to allow daylight in, while offering privacy from neighbours.
